Prosperitas Coronavirus (COVOID-19) Update

Prosperitas Leadership Academy is in constant communication with the Florida Department of Health and Department of Education regarding responses to COVID-19.

Anyone with symptoms should call a medical provider for guidance on what to do. Medical providers will ask questions to screen people for COVID-19 or other illnesses, including the “common flu” which is also prevalent this time of year.

In Florida, as of late April 15, 22,519 cases were confirmed and 614 residents have died. From Sunday to Monday, new daily cases in Florida increased from 845 to 1,000.

In Orange County, there have been 12,925 tests administered, 1,072 cases confirmed (8.3%), 178 people hospitalized and 19 deaths. From Sunday to Monday, daily cases decreased from 51 to 34. Confirmed cases went down week over week, from 432 (March 31-April 6) to 289 (April 7-13). A heat map of Orange County hot spots is posted here.
