The full annual total is the same with either payment option. A monthly payment is an installment of the annual plan, not a standalone month of enrollment. Review allowances apply per student across all subjects, not separately to each course.

Clear feedback.
A plan your family can follow.

Digital resources are the starting point. Teacher comments and a shared plan help make the next step easier to understand.

  • A subject plan to follow

Four learning areas in Kindergarten, four core subjects in Grades 1–8, and up to six approved subjects in High School. Digital resources for the agreed plan are included.

  • Teacher-reviewed work

Selected written answers, projects and extended responses receive teacher comments. Weekly allowances apply per student across all subjects, not separately to each course.

  • A clear feedback window

Feedback within two business days during the study calendar, with one revision of each selected submission included.

  • A family view of progress

A weekly written summary shows completed work, areas to revisit and the next planned steps.

  • A prepared start

Initial orientation, a learning plan and digital resources are included. There is no separate registration fee.

What useful feedback can look like.

A teacher’s comment can show where an idea changed direction and give the learner one practical way to try again.

  1. Complete the lesson and submit a selected piece of work.
  2. Read comments that explain the next step.
  3. Revise the work, then use the feedback in the next activity.
Wooden shapes arranged for a mathematics activity

An example from fraction practice

Practice question
A ribbon measures ½ yard. Add another ¼ yard. How much ribbon do you have?
Example first answer
½ + ¼ = 2/6 yard.
Illustrative teacher feedback
Write both fractions in quarters first: ½ is 2/4. Now add 2/4 + 1/4 = 3/4 yard. Draw four equal parts and shade three to check your result.
Next step
Try ¼ + ½ and explain why changing the order gives the same total.

Original illustrative example. This is not work submitted by a PLA student or feedback from a named PLA teacher.

Clear responsibilities, review limits and payment terms matter as much as the price.

Is the monthly amount a subscription?

No. PLA Independent is a 36-week annual learning plan, paid once or in 10 monthly installments. The full annual cost appears for every stage and is the same with either payment option. A monthly installment is part of the annual plan, not cancel-anytime monthly enrollment.

Which work will a teacher review?

The allowance is up to two selected submissions each study week in Kindergarten, three in Elementary and Middle School, and four in High School. Selected writing, projects and extended responses receive teacher feedback within two business days during the study calendar, with one revision included. Allowances apply per student across the whole subject plan, not separately to each course.

Will we have live classes?

PLA Independent uses self-paced lessons and written teacher feedback. Daily live classes and one-to-one tutoring are outside this offer.

What will parents need to do?

Kindergarten is guided by a parent or learning adult. Elementary learners need help with routines, reading practice and materials. Older students take more responsibility, while parents continue to check progress and support needs. Families receive a weekly written progress summary.

What costs sit outside tuition?

A computer, Internet access, printing and hands-on materials are family costs. Initial orientation, the learning plan and digital resources for the agreed subjects are included, with no separate registration fee. Confirm the exact subjects and any external exams or optional services in the written program details before enrollment.

Can we pause, withdraw or request a refund?

Obtain the applicable written refund, withdrawal, pause, late-start and payment terms before making a payment. Review how those terms apply to the annual plan and your start date. The payment options shown here do not establish a refund guarantee.

Does choosing a state enroll my child?

The program finder opens a stage and state planning guide. It does not submit an application or inquiry, take payment or confirm enrollment. Use the guide to prepare questions about the program and your state's requirements.
