Plan High School with Wisconsin in mind.

These official resources cover different education arrangements. Homeschool guidance applies when your family chooses that route; it does not establish how PLA enrollment is classified in your state.

A homeschool report is not school admission

Wisconsin’s HOMER portal explicitly states that the PI-1206 homeschool enrollment report is not an application to an online school. It links virtual charter school information separately.

Keep a copy and plan for updates

The portal tells parents to retain a hard copy of the submitted report and explains that reports can be updated during the school year. It links a Home-Based Private Educational Program FAQ for preparation.

Your High School planning checklist

  • Which prior course records and proposed subjects should we review with the intended receiving school or next-step institution in Wisconsin?
  • Who can confirm any credit, completion or diploma expectations in writing? Assignment feedback alone does not establish credit transfer or a diploma pathway.
Questions for your Wisconsin education pathway
  • Which Wisconsin learning arrangement are we choosing, and which reporting questions should we resolve before paying a provider?
  • Who will keep enrollment confirmations, curriculum records, and progress reports, and can we download copies throughout the year?

This guide helps with planning. It does not confirm PLA enrollment availability, state approval, accreditation or public funding. Check the education arrangement and applicable responsibilities for your family before changing schools.
